Abstract

E-commerce skills required by Business education students in the 21st Century for entrepreneurial development was carried out in Ebonyi State. The researchers adopted survey research design. The Population comprised of 49 lecturers of Business education programme made up of 20 male and 29 female in the four (4) public higher institutions offering Business Education programme in Ebonyi State. The entire population was utilized for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire of 20 items. The instrument was validated by three (3) experts. Data collected were analysed using mean and standard deviation while t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that Business Education students required e-commerce skills for entrepreneurial development in the 21st century. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers recommended that e-commerce skills should be integrated into Business Education curriculum and also, skills acquisition centres should prepare e-commerce skills packages required for training Business Education students for entrepreneurial development in the 21st century.
