INFLUENCE OF OFFICE INFORMATION SYSTEM ON ENTREPRENEURIAL MANAGEMENT DECISIONS MAKING IN BUSINESS EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN PUBIC UNIVERSITY IN EDO STATE, NIGERIA

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of office information system on entrepreneurial management decisions making in business education programme in public universities in Edo state, Nigeria. The targeted population comprises eighty (80) entrepreneurs and Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Oredo Local Government, Benin City, and Edo state. The entire population was used for the study. The research design was the use of structured questionnaire developed by the researcher as an instrument for data collection. The focused on entrepreneurial management decisions making. in business education programme in pubic universitieT in Edo state, Nigeria. The instrument was content validated by two experts in the Business Education department. Chronbach alpha method was used to determine the reliability that yielded 0.96 coefficients index. The researcher personally administered copies of the questionnaire with the aid of two research assistants. The questionnaires were administered and retrieved on the spot. Using these methods, 80 copies were administered and retrieved, representing 100% retrieval rate of return. The Mean and Standard Deviation were used to answer the research questions while chi-square was used to test the null hypothesis at p< 0.05 level of significance. It was concluded that office information is beneficial to entrepreneurial decision-making process so as to have easy flow of information to a high influence. The result shows that application software has impact on entrepreneurial decision-making to very high influence. Gender impacts entrepreneurial decision-making to a high influence. Finally, the study recommended among other measures that office information should be adopted by entrepreneurs in order to facilitate quick and data-driven decisions making process. in pubic universities in Edo State. The use of software storage should be encouraged in order for the use and retrieval of information becomes less difficult in aiding decision making process in public universities Edo State, among other.
